I used to like Valiant comics a lot. But they went out of business and I haven't really paid much attention to comics since.

I have a load of X-MEN comics. I stopped collecting them when the art started to go down hill. The first one I have is #106 of the UNCANNY X-MEN but when I started to buy them regularly was at #122 which was from 1982. Every once in awhile I will read through them.

I read and collect:

-Gen13
-Gen13 Bootleg
-Buffy the Vampire Slayer
-Angel
-Green Aroow
-Daredevil
-All the Jay and Silent Bob one shots
-Spawn(of course)

I really liked the Marvel vs. DC series that was done a while ago. That was a really great set of books especially all the one shots by Amalgam that came out after that!

I used to read and collect them but I quit when they hit $1.50 Cdn ($10 a month allowance didn't go to far back then ;) ). When I was out of college I did start collecting them again but only once in a while.

ps. Funny thing..... I used to collect the Mighty Thor but I quit at issue 399 which was a very climatic battle and I always wondered what happened. I went to a business conference last year & they handed out comic and I received Issue #400 :D

Cheers,
Aquaman

I quit collecting and reading. It got too dang expensive, which brings up an old rant of mine. The main reason I quit collecting is because I got tired of all the crossovers. It got so that you had to buy 5 titles each month just so you would know the complete story.

I've got boxes of X-Men. My earliest is #30.

I used to be a comic book "broker" back in my early college days. I would read a month in advance in trade magazines what was coming out, then determine if it was going to be a hot item or not. I have such items in my collection as the first 10 Todd McFarline Spiderman's, the issue where the Hulk turned from green to gray (+the one where he turned gray to green again), a LOT of first issue Batman's (that was really hot at the time), the standard Superman death issues, marriage issues, death of Lex issues, etc, first 50 issues of the Transformers (used to love them! :) ), and many others. I was thinking about EGaying the whole collection, but it's fun to have around. Not sure...maybe I'll keep it and give them to my grandkids some day (as long as they don't take them out of thier bags and bend the pages heheheeh).
