Do you put Mustard or Ketchup on YOUR hotdog?

If I am using plain yellow mustard I put both. If I'm using some sort of spicy mustard I leave off the ketchup.

Yeah, me too... well, not plain yellow mustard, but I will usually dip my fries in the various mustards that usually come with chicken strips at restaurants.

dill pickle spear
Tomato (sliced or Wedged)
Peppers
A bit of celery salt

Those are the required ingredients, though addition of Chilli or Cheese further enhances the hot dog.

Right there you have ketchup. The tomato + relish and/or pickle ingredients ARE ketchup ingredients. The only difference is that the ketchup is blended while your example is chopped. Same ingredients and same flavor. Just a different texture.

WTF I don't get the big deal with those who think ketchup on a hot dog is an abomination. Is this a Chicago only thing? I don't get the big deal. I've eaten hot dogs at airports all over the country (california, seattle, utah, texas, florida, atlanta) and as far as I've seen ketchup is the norm.

Now you are saying Airport food is the standard? Airport food stinks. Even a chain outlet in the airport is worse than the discrete counterpart.

What a boring hot dog. Dude you need to open up your eyes and realize hot dogs have the same possibilities as burgers and sandwhiches. You have no right to compare hot dogs (the cheapest crappiest "meat") to steak, they are at opposite ends of the spectrum.

Actually I'm just a plain food kinda guy. I like my steaks with salt and pepper. Burgers with cheese and some ketchup. Though I do like to like to get the bacon western style burgers every once and a while. Bacon, cheese, BBQ sauce, onion rings, and cheese... that's a tasty burger. I actually rarely ever eat hotdogs, as I prefer beer brats and the like. Flavor in the food over condiments most times for me. I spice it up with the sides, like some potato salad. No need to get crazy on the main dish. 😛

edit: Sandwiches are plain too. Mustard or mayo depending on the meat type, a slice or two of cheese and that's how I likes them. Get a nice deli cut of pastrami or roast beef, you really don't need anything else. Of course it's a personal preference, but I like the taste of the meat over dressing it up. 🙂

Man, i'm the opposite. I am a condoment flavor junky. The only exception is steak with salt and possibly lime (depending on the cut). Everything else, I want everything on it + a lot of stuff that they don't even offer.
