Do you push your rig harder as it gets older?

Or do u hit the max o'c out of the box?

Or leave it stock always?

The diff between my CPU at stock and 2.2Ghz is amazing, especially for games with my (now old skool :( ) 9800 pro, but thats the only reason i really bother, windows is a lot snappier than at stock too i guess ;)

?

Nope. In fact I have a P4 2.4 doing nothing but I don't feel like bothering to upgrade the P4 1.6 I'm using.

just stock hsf ;)

i'm only at 1.8vcore so it doesn't get too toasty, tho when we have 40'C+ days i usually have to clock down a bit (no a/c)...

I have a 1.83 GHz Athlon and it's not that stable much over 2 GHz and I have non-stock cooling. I might get a new processor and motherboard later this year though cause I think I'll be needing it for the newer games coming out.

what core? mines a t-bred B0 stepping...

yeah i guess i did quite well ;)

but another bloke here has his 1700+ at 2.4ghz so he's doing better still :p

still even a 3200+ A64 will kick our sorry Axp cores from here to mars in gaming (even max o'cd i suspect :( ) so if you have the cash they would be an awesome upgrade :D

max stable. 2.2ghz barton oc for the last year or two. its getting bogged down with all the cr@p i run. 18 things in sys tray alone. have had 1gb from the start. i swear its not quite enough any more these days with infrequent reboots and leaving everything open/assloads of firefox tabs.

I was going to overclock until my CPU HSF crapped out and now it only goes the lowest speed. So I'm doin' fine at 2.81GHz. Need a better video card, though :(.

I'll overclock the CPU as high as possible on stock. I just buy budget CPUs. I go easy on the VC , only upping the clocks as need be.

Edit: To answer the question, yes, I overclock it as far as it'll go as soon as I get it.

My tbred B 2100+ @ 2700+ (1.7v) died after 1 year (Thermalright SLK-800 HS with Thermaltake SCFII) :(

Then I got a 2500+ and my motherboard died :(

I'm going to leave my A64 3200+ alone heh

No, more on the gay side of things, i've been forced to clock it backa little, from stability problems.

I've narrowed it down to either RAM problems (i guess normal buffalo tech pc3700 RAM just can't handle 3.1v for very long running at 260-270mhz), or a fvcked up windows install.
