do you pronounce/sound-out "OS"

I've always said O S, and I had yet to hear anyone sound it out until today.

Btw, she's complaining that her AOL doesn't work with "MAC AHHHSS ten" but it works with "MAC AHHSS nine"

Every time she says AAAHHHSSS slap her, and say 'NO' in a firm voice... then quickly give her a treat when she says it correctly.

The difference between initials and acronyms is obviously not readily apparent to everyone. Of course, there's nothing worse than having no idea how to pronounce something and being forced to before you can find out the correct way to say it. This is much worse than not even realizing you can't pronounce it in the first place and having it just spill out. And of course, OS is not an acronym, just initials.

What is the difference, then?

The way I see it, all initials are acronyms, but not all acronyms are initials. OS is both the initials AND an acronym. RADAR, on the other hand, is an acronym but not the initials of the words it represents....
