Do you prefer to play games single player or multiplayer?

Me.. I am a single player person. I enjoy the story more to endless rounds of fighting other people.

Be it an FPS game, and RTS, or a sim...

I LOVE co-op w/ the guys on my LAN.....especially since we have a guy that gets real pissy if something doesn't go his way. 😉

only way to multiplay is co-op! 😀
sucks that so few games have co-op option 🙁

could everyone list all the co-op games they remember?

Diablo II and Neverwinter Nights are ones I've played co-op recently.

I like playing multi-player more than single. It's just funner going through the game with a friend. 🙂

Here are some that we played...

Rainbow six/Rogue Spear/Ghost Recon
Age of Empires/Age of Kings
Age of Mythology (Damn the AI is a killer!!!)
Unreal Tournament (us against bots)
X-Wing vs. Tie-Fighter
Kohan
Dungeon Siege
Warcraft II
Starcraft

Back in the day we played 2 player dial up Doom I and II co-op. That was fun.

Newest game we play co-op is Ghost Recon. Thats a game where playing it multiplayer co-op is so much better then dealing with the team AI

Multiplayer

MOHAA missions, or tug-Of-War pretty fun.

Anyone here played multiplayer Operation Desert Storm, I just picked up the game and it seems pretty decent.

Both. I really can't make up my mind when there are single player games like Deus Ex and System Shock 2, and multiplayer games like Counter-strike, warcraft 3 and Unreal Tournament.

I really enjoy the stories in good games like System Shock 2...it's like playing a movie. However I also really enjoy fragging some people, especially if they think that they are l33t.

Playing against computer controlled enemies gets a bit repetitive and predictable, even in UT /w godlike bots. That's why playing against other people is fun.

single, though I loved playing Quake2 CTF an hour a day when I was taking a month off after my old company was sold and I got the copper parachute 🙂 .

Being decent at an online FPS takes way more time than I have left after working full-time and meeting my minimum daily requirement of neffing.

Operation Flashpoint is a great game to play because the single player story and missions are good and if you get tired of that you can go multiplayer and do co-op missions or against others.

I suck at UT2 and Quake Arena, so I tend to game by myself.

Simcity 4 and Age of Mythology are my favorites right now...

Prefer multiplayer part of games to play against human opponents.

Computers are fun, but get dull when you figure out their patterns. (Some)People arent as easy.

The reason I play UT2 single is because I suck; I wouldn't want to be embarrassed in front of many other people when I royally screw up or get killed 3 seconds into the game. 😱

Uck. I hate stories sometimes and just prefer to smoke people online or the bots in single player. I buy id games partially for that: they're simple games.
