Do you prefer cats or dogs?

I was never an animal lover but once my wife got a gift of a small baby Persian cat. I fell in love with her and started treating her like my baby!

I never could've thought I could love an animal so much but she is so adorable and cute

I don't think I could ever like a dog this way what do you guys prefer and why?

Eh, if I am going out and about I would rather have a dog with me, if I am reading a book in bed I would rather have a cat with me.

Cats are cute and all but I find dogs to be much better pets, then again I've had a dog with me pretty much since the day I was born (not the same one obviously).

Dogs are more rewarding but much more time consuming. IMO cats have a better effort to reward ratio.

Nah, I get along pretty well with all animals. I recently took in a stray cat who blasted seven kittens all over my living room and I've been trying to find them homes. I don't really have dogs or cats because they're a lot of work, but I wouldn't turn one down.

i like both but if i were to get one i'd prefer to get a cat. they are overall just cleaner than dogs (from my experience) and require less maintenance.

i love cats and dogs but i just don't really want any of my own because animals are messy in general and i don't wanna worry about fur everywhere. i lived with cats and dogs all my life growing up.

i am going to start a saltwater aquarium in the not-to-distant future though.

I would say cats but since my wife added a dog to our house I dislike all animals. I am counting the days until they die and the house is rid of pets. My cat probably only had a few years left (he's 13). The dog unfortunately is new and will probably last at least 10 before it dies.

If I lived on a farm, I'd get a dog, but I love cats too much to not have one.
"Want to go for a ride?!" - get a dog
"Eat this!" - get a dog
"That's a skunk, don't go over there!...why'd you go over there?" - get a dog
Just unquestioning stupidity, but usefull for barking at intruders.

"Please stop making a racket at 3 in the morning!" - get a cat
"Sleep there for 8 hours while I go to work." - get a cat
"Lay on my stomach and purr while I watch this movie." - get a cat
Cats are like women on the rag, you gotta tiptoe around to please them at risk of explosion any second.

I have had a dog before, but he was too spazzy for me. I love my two cats. We inherited one from an old room mate who didn't want him, and he is awesome. We adopted a female kitten and she's been great too. They love to be with us and play. However they do cause lots of problems by getting into places they shouldn't!

I prefer cats due to the fact that they dont always bug you, they typically go to the bathroom without your input or needing to open doors and are very self reliant.

Historically I've liked dogs but after attempting to own one as an adult, I find them to be too much hassle. They're like having another kid.

If I had to get a pet now, I'd get a cat.
