I buy lotto tickets where ever I travel to and as far in advance as I can :D

I am also in a Calif. Lottery Club which plays all calif games on Saturdays.

No, but i should really start if I'm going to fullfill my dreams of retiring before my college graduation.

Nope. Skoorb and I used to see people at home spending their last dollars on the lottery and actually going hungry...we called it a tax on stupid people. :)

No, I already pay enough in taxes, I see no reason in paying more voluntarily.

So does my statistics teacher, he goes on and on about gambling and how stupid it is :) . I think he's a little goofy though

I always thought gambling in general (with the possible exception of blackjack) is just a tax on people who are bad at math. And since I am horrible at math (and an engineering major, go figure), I don't play the lotto.

I have bought two tickets though when the Ohio lottery was at like $40 million (many many years ago) a couple of times, but nothing came of that :). Bought them more for the novelty of the thing at the time.

Some of my buddies like the scratch off games, but again, I see no purpose in that. I'd rather spend the money on gas for my car, I get far more enjoyment out of driving then I would sitting on the couch waiting for my numbers to come up.

I spend $1 on the CA Lotto when it is over $40 million. It's more of a dream/fantasy thing than expecting to win.

I view $$ I spend on any form of gambling as purely entertainment expenditures. That pool at work ? we do so much smack talking among ourselves about it ! It's fun and was a great help in getting to know a few folks and fit into the office culture:)

That wasn't directed at you Baff. People who spend upwards of several hundred dollars a week on the lottery are getting hit by an idiot tax. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.
