It's kind of like that saying about Bill Gates at how it literally isn't worth his time to bend over to pick up a dollar bill. Except, in my case, while not as rich as him it can be said it is not worth my time to pick up a penny. :colbert:

I do not. Paranoia. (Am I on candid camera? Is somebody doing a sociology experiment? Did my dad glue it to the floor again?)

If I see money on the ground I pick it up. Unless of course its sitting in poop.

No.
A nickel? Maybe.
A dime? Probably. Depends on the weather, or if my back has once again decided to feel like someone's jammed a dagger into it.

A quarter or above? Yes, quite likely.

When my son was little he started picking up money, excitement and new words learned when he picked up a dime on the stairs to the subway in Montreal. I found a $100 bill once, but given the locations I've picked up a penny at, few would pick it up.

Pennies are virtually worthless these days. With the time and energy expended to bend and pick one up, most of us could earn more than a penny's value. I look forward to the day when pennies become superfluous, and we can instead talk about whether it is worthwhile to pick up a nickel.

I can always use good luck so if it's heads up I pick it up. With that said if I see a wheat penny I'm picking it up because I collect them. Wheat pennies are immune to bad luck :sneaky:

Sure. Over the course of my life picking up pennies has bought me an extra burrito bowl.

No, but less because of its value and more because I don't like using cash to begin with. That is, outside of vending machines that require it, but don't take pennies anyway. So I'd may as well leave them for someone who may be more inclined to spend it.

This also means I don't often end up with pennies, and when I do they just sit around. I do look through them to find wheat ones, I like setting them aside for some reason (I'm sure I'll never try selling them)

"A penny saved is still just a penny."

A penny saved can keep you from getting more pennies when you use exact change. It's also tax free, so you're really getting 1.3¢

Saving change, and then paying someone to count it for you is the dumbest shit in the world. If you want to save money, save real money. Get rid of change as fast as possible.

I save pennies if they were made before 1982. I bet the copper I have is worth a lot of money!

I also have a bunch of wheat pennies.
