do you pee in public swimming pools?

i remember when i was a kid and i'd go to our local swimming pool and just let it rip.

there was a time when the lifeguard pulled everyone out and closed the pool for the day when brown chunks started floating on the surface of the pool. after that, i never went swimming in a public pool again.
