Do you pay for your coffee @ work?

My workplace has recently started charging us for coffee. Coffee is a necessity, I don't think we should be charged for it. And consider how it costs them less than $0.10 per cup, and they charge us $1 a cup, there's something wrong here. They pay me squat, then I give back $1 or $2 each day.

I walk down to the corner Circle K.

It costs $1 there.

Of course, I'm making my walk on company time, so maybe that's actually an IMPROVEMENT. 😛

Don't drink coffee but it's free here. It costs the company about $400/month for coffee, filters, suger, etc.

But people here work hard and a lot of hours so it's worth it, a small perk with a big return. Happy employees.

F**K that!! I would absoltuely not pay my company for coffee. There is a popular coffee place about 4 min walk from work - i'd just walk on company time - drinks would be a tiny bit more expensive but charging for coffee is crap. It part of the "benefits" of having to sit in front of a computer for 8 hours a day.

Nope, right now we are four in the office and we have our own machine that makes all sort of types of coffee.

A dollar a cup! Yikes! At that price I would be bringing a Thermos of coffee with me. Are you allowed to use 64 oz. cups? 😉

Ours is free, along with tea, hot chocolate, and bottled water.

We have one of them nifty machines that spits out coffee at .45 cents for a large and .35 for a small cup. It wil also make an Americano for .75 cents.

I usually bring my thermos. 😉

Hmmm sounds like a $10.00 coffee maker at your desk would be your best bet.

We have free coffee here in the office and a soda machine that people get charged for.

I buy my group free soda and such because its a cheap perk that keeps em happy.

Our company use to have free coffee. We got a new CEO last year and he changed this to .75 cent coffee vending machines. It was good coffee, but not necessary. People who drank 3 or 4 cups (or more) of coffee got pissed. They started to use slugs in the machine (washers, etc.) and the vending machine company got pissed and pulled the machine. They then went to smaller coffee machines (2 on each floor) for .10 cents. People are happy now.

I bet your belly is showing the company's appreciation eh? Last place I worked had that stuff to and I didn't care for it. When you ahve a full packet of Nibs or party chips by your side its too hard to resist. We just get free coffee/water/hot chocholate here and thats all i would want.

I use a paycheck for that 🙂

Free coffee where I work, don't drink coffee tho. Gotta pay for snacks and soda though. We've been trying to get a small fridge in out office for soda but can't convince the company to pay for it.

We pay 25¢ for coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and bottled water and 35¢ for sodas. The extra money goes into the pot for plastic spoons and forks for parties and to maintain the coffee maker and things. Every couple of months, a huge box of donuts usually appears with the extra money. One of teh secretaries is nice enough to take care of this for us. The feds don't believe in free coffee unless you are a diplomat. Most of us just toss in a 5 dollar bill every once in a while to cover the costs instead of paying by the cup. A lot easier and probably costs us a little more but we don't need to carry around that stupid change that sets the metal detectors off.

free coffee all the time here the only catch is that it looks like tar and tastes even worse so i usualy get my coffee from the white hen pantry across the street.

free coffee, tea, hot choclate, hot water, cookies if yo ucan catch them, bagles if yo ucan catch them, other baked goods....if you can catch them 😛

paying for coffee is CRAP

I can't believe so many of you have to pay for coffee. I never worked anywhere where we had to pay for drinks. Geez, lighten up corporate America!
