I got a notice today that a vote will be held soon to see if we want to to pay for stree light or have them turn off. Basically if we want to have light we have to pay or they will shut off power. Those that are home owners do you pay for your street light, i am still debaiting if i want to pay for it or not

Alot of cities are starting to run them part time in order to save costs and...cough...justify not cutting police budgets

Because most people won't realize that they are already paying to run the lights. When it goes on the ballot, of course everyone will want to do the responsible thing and keep the lights running, even if it means paying a little extra. Blood-sucking politicians aren't above playing people like that.

We still have lights all over the houses though. It's silly, because people move out to the country to get away from the city, and instead they bring it with them.

So if majority of people vote no and they turn off street lights, can they be sued for endangering public safety?

Why does it not surprise me that this would be the final point of this whole convoluted exercise??
