No but it's crossed my mind to get at very least a regular 12v am/fm radio or even a ham radio. In a large scale power outage situation I could at least run it off the portable solar system and find out what's going on etc.

We don't get tornadoes or any crazy storms here, thankfully. There's been a few hour+ power outages where I was wondering what was going on but that stuff gets posted to Facebook pretty fast and my home network is good for 4 hours on batteries. That would not really be an option if it's a large enough scale issue that it takes out the internet though.

No

I have a cellular telephone that connects to the internet. The internet is able to provide a wealth of information, including videos of cats, people falling down and hurting themselves, and of course... weather warnings.

Wait! What? Where? I am calling shens

Anything that takes out the internet will take us out too. Even if not directly, it would still be the proximate cause when the mass suicides start. No internet means shiny and chrome S&M gangs roving all over statues of liberty sticking half out of the ground all over the place, and who would want to live in a world like that?

I have a VHF/UHF amateur radio with the weather frequencies programmed in. Aside from the VHF/UHF, I also have an HF radio for auxiliary communications.

Yes and it doesn't pick up jack shit. Besides, I can look outside and tell a lot about whether I need to worry or not.
