The company I work for has a 48" widescreen plasma display hooked up to a computer just sitting in a hallway near our labs. Made by pioneer. Its beautiful, and I've only ever seen them have it on 3 times. It's nuts, they've got probably a $5000 display sitting back where only employees run into it.

If I ever were to buy a plasma TV, it'd be that pioneer model.

don't plasma screen tvs expire in 5 years or something?

Anyways, i'd rather get a $5000 HD projector and a screen.

Ahh, good ol NYU has dozens of these things used to display signs and events. Half of them are never on, the other half display static images....what a waste of plasma screens.

No, but we have a huge one in the reception where I work.
I'm currently planning on ways to steal it without being noticed :D

If that's for their kitchen, what the hell is in their living room?!

I have trouble bringing myself to buy a $10,000 glorified TV screen that is guaranteed to die in a specified amount of hours.

No thanks.

if you made a rather high salary, would $10,000 really matter?

Anyways, I find the resolutions lacking, redardless of their brightness. Inaddition, blacks aren't perfect yet, and there is till the problem of burnt pxels if you leave colors static...

TO the best of my knowledge, the Marantz and Zenieth 60inches are the only ones the rescan automatically to prevent screwed up pixels.

Anyways, I don't think any of the 42inch ones are HDTV-capable....720+ ,,,,,I think their max res is around 843x576 dor some number like that...

Obviously 576 does NOT = 720,720p,1080

There we go.
