Well, my daughter brought in two cats when she was living at home, and I'm allergic. Couldn't sit on my own furniture or my eyes would start to water and my nose would run. Had to take Zyrtec, which causes impotence with extended use. Now she's moved out, took her cats with her, we got leather furniture, and my dick works again!
That's crazy, why the heck would you take medicine for something that is easily solved by "No more cats in the house."?

Some cats make me allergic, others no. Its weird and I only found out when one of our cats passed. This white cat, tonkinese short hair mix, made me seriously allergic to the point where I would occasionally need an asthma inhaler. I just thought I was coming down with asthma and allergies and could never point out the cause. When that cat died, my allergies dissipated within the course of 2 weeks and as we cleaned the house and traces of his presence slowly disappeared, my allergies also went away. I havent used my inhaler in months.

Whats interesting is that he was the only cat I was ever allergic too. We even have cats now and I can snuggle them, hang out with them in my lap on the couch, they sleep next to our heads on the pillows and no sneezing, eyes watering, chest wheezing etc...

There's a dynamic in my house:

Me: No cats!
Daughter: Aw dad! You suck.
Mom: Listen to your father.
::daughter sneaks in cats::
Me: I SAID NO CATS
Mom: Aw, they're so cute!
Me: I'M ALLERGIC!
Daughter: But if I take them back to the shelter they'll be killed!
Mom: Oh no!
Me: YOU DIDN'T LISTEN TO ME WHEN I SAID...
Mom: STOP YELLING AT YOUR DAUGHTER...

Some cats make me allergic, others no.

I think I'm the same way. When I first met my wife, she had a cat, mostly outdoors, but it would come in at night and sometimes stay in for a whole weekend. Was never allergic to it. However, if I step foot in my SIL's house, within 5 minutes I'm sneezing, nose is running and my eyes are irritated. IDK if her cat is an outdoor or indoor, but my allergies are nearly instant over there. We got a kitten about 2 years ago when my daughter begged us. I gave it a shot but after about a month, we had to get rid of it.
