Do you organize your Applications folder?

Nope. I also hate that Adobe puts their apps in folders in Applications 😛 Spotlight & Google Quick Search ftw!

Well, iWork goes into a folder, but iLife doesn't. I don't have Final Cut, but I know that Aperture doesn't go into a folder.

The real problem is that if you pull iWork out of the folder, or rename it... you can't update them since the updater is not smart enough to just look for the apps.

I might try something similar. I tried moving most of my extra installed apps into the built-in /Applications/Utilities folder but there's some stuff there that probably doesn't belong.

I put Adobe into its own subfolder and the installer updated to the new location upon each app's next launch, so no problems there.

I heard all apps that came with the Mac must stay in /Applications - is this true? Can Safari be moved?

My goal is to have my Applications stack not scroll. I'm almost there, but hopefully the next round of moves won't break anything 😛

Isn't there a way to grab a bunch of icons and make a stack out of them? I thought that there was.

I know! Adobe isn't exactly known for intelligent designs. I have all my Adobe app folders in a single folder so I can find them quickly. Everything else is on it's own in alphabetical order. Stuff I use most often is ether aliased to the desktop or in my dock.

I put all of the 3rd party apps I installed in a folder inside /Applications/ and keep the original DMG's on a flash drive, but that's about it.
