I ordered my last batch of checks online through Costco. Good prices and fast delivery.

I normally order from one of the Sunday flyers in the paper. Just look through the coupon section of the Sunday paper ads and you should find a company.

Cheap too!

BankOne tried to charge me $21 for a box of checks on a new account. Even when I asked NOT to get them. (I returned them and got a refund.)

I do pay my bank to give me new checks but I use them so rarely that the < $10 fee isn't a big deal. I think I use a check once every 2-3 months.

I ordered my business checks through the quicken store. I got 300 notebook checks for around 100 bucks. and that included the leather binder with my initials on it. I will never order checks through a bank again.

I ordered a couple of boxes of duplicate checks from Costco. I don't remember the price, but it was the cheapest I found and they had a 10% off coupon code at the time. I notice that the checks I got are on cheaper/thinner paper than the checks that CitiBank sent me... but I don't care.

BTW, I figured out that you actually don't need to have a Costco membership to buy from their check supplier. If you enter your Costco membership number incorrectly like three times, the check site will just give up and move you on to the next page.

I know this because I have an international membership and the number doesn't work with any of Costco.com's online stuff.

Yeah.

Doubt anyone here has a printer that can print the magnetic #s along the bottom, some places will not take a check if their reader cant read the magnetic #s, as it is alot more likely to be a bad check.

it's the ink that's expensive . . . i know some "regular" HP printers use it...

ANYWAY, the magnetic readers will not read it BUT the optical ones will . . . . MOST retail shops will manually type in the routing and acct nos . . . . your "maid" will take it and so will all the utilities ;)

personally, i've never encountered a problem . . . and i've been printing my own checks for ~5 years . . . in FACT, i am still using my Free-After-Rebate original pre-printed check paper. . . . so it's just the cost of ink :)
