wow dude. I work out of town quite a bit, so I eat out often but not by choice. There's nothing like a home cooked meal to me, I don't see how you can handle eating out that much.

Yeah I think I agree, and I will concede on this point. However I do plan on enlisting the help of the Foreman grill as often as possible.

and the saga of the test run marches on... ;)

BTW, no, we get take-out / eat-out about 3 times a week.

Oh yeah... expect lots of posts as the weeks and months pass by.... 487 days til the wedding.

Overall I'd say we're doing ok so far... we have our ups and downs... but overall it's good so far.

Yes. We cook a lot. She cooks more than I do, but I usually clean up the dishes. We both enjoy cooking and heating healthy meals.

Even if you're on a busy schedule, cooking's not difficult.

1. Plan ahead. Go to the grocery store with a list of the ingredients for what you're going to cook during the week.
2. Keep it simple. Rachel Ray's 30 minute meals are excellent and easy and fast to do.
3. Plan for leftovers. Make extra food that you can store in the freezer (chili, soup, etc.). One night of cooking can feed you for a couple of days.

I don't feel like cooking every night, and neither does she. So a few nights I'll pick up a pizza from Papa Murphy's or take one out of the freezer, or we'll head out to a fast food joint.

I'd say we split it around 60/40 with her cooking more. My expertise is in grilling, which I try to do a couple of nights a week. Although we do go out for dinner quite a bit more than we should.

Let's see, requires you to cook every night instead of making sandwiches, won't let you buy soy milk, won't let you play video games... yeah sounds like a real compromising and thoughtful woman you got there..*

I'm the family cook.....I'm not even sure my wife can boil water. I've tried to show her a few tricks, but she can't even stir pasta noodles, no kidding! Most likely she probably just doesn't want to cook and thus she sabotages every attempt to keep the status quo. I don't mind, I like to cook. She does the dishes, it's all good.

I cook about 5 times a week. I also consider grilling a piece of fish and microwaving a potato as "cooking", it's the same thing as cooking out of a box IMHO. If there is something to clean up other than my plate, it's cooking. :D

Tonite's menu consists of a couple pints of Oberon Ale, a salad, and my yummy chicken penne arrabbiata.

Woman does the cooking. I feign cooking incompetence until she just does it herself. She may be onto me after I pretended to not know how to boil water. I think I pushed it to far with that one.

I voted for cook everynight...

but in reality I cook 3 or 4 times a week (sometimes more, sometimes less) and then eat leftovers on the days that I don't cook. I go out sometimes w/friends too, but otherwise I'd much rather cook my own food than have a TV dinner, fast food, or some other junk. My food = healthier & better tasting :D

Depends on what we're doing...

Mondays and Wednesdays we play volleyball at the beach after work, so we generally don't cook, as we don't finish until about 9ish...

most other nights we do cook though..

I don't mind cooking but I hate dishes. Except frying pans those are easy to clean. If she insists on cooking, let her.
