Do you notice a difference with AA and Truform enabled?

I just got my Radeon 9500, I was testing out some of it's features. I used Morrowind and Unreal2 to test with and without AA, Truform, and Anisotropic filtering enabled.

I set AA at 6x, An. Filtering at 16x, and turned on Truform, and I cannot see one bit of a difference. I took screenshots and compared, there is absolutely no difference (at 1024x768).

Is it just me, or those games, or are these features not really noticable?

I did not check for a performance hit with those things enabled. I just went in and turned it all off...

You didn't do something right... there's definately a BIG difference, very noticeable.

Is your monitor crap?. I don't bother with AA because it sucks for the amount of power it takes up but I do use AF at 16x and it dose a great job of getting rid of the blur you can see on a floor in the distance, and overall the environment just looks better.

the game must have trueform code and be enabled in the game itself

i have always set aa and fsaa this way as well in most games

not sure about those particular games but serious sam has it buried in the advanced settings
some others use command lines

seems morrowind needs patches

here

but i couldn't find anything on unreal2

You should notice a difference with the AA turn it off and watch the jaggies appear. I use 4x performance aa and 16x af. I can tell the difference from the normal default setting.

AA makes a significant difference. Anisotropic filtering is more noticeable in certain situations. It can definitely help in some games.

My monitor is a Trinitron 17", it's pretty good.

I guess it must be the games.... or do I need to restart the computer after I change those settings?

I'll try to post some screenshots...

Thanks!

You can't screenshot AA by just taking one from in the game. The effect won't appear.

ok, when I get home I will test this stuff again. I swear I did not see ANY difference in the jaggies. I also didn't notice anything with TruForm. Does it depend on the resolution?

Well, when I said AA was off, it was set to Application Preference....
