Hello,

I have two maxtor 30.7 GB ATA100 drive, one at 7200 rpm and the other at 5400rpm.
Will I be able to use RAID??

Usually you do need identical drives to get the best performance. I do not think that having 2 drives of the same size with different rotational speeds would be best, but it should work.

I know its theoretically possible with different sized drives (you just lose the difference between them on the bigger drive), but I dont know about different speeds. It might be, but why would you want to? The increased seek time on the 5400 is gonna make it suck, anyway... 2 5,400 RPM HDs in RAID 0 are slower than 1 7,200 RPM HD

You certainly can. But you will always be limited by your smallest / slowest drive.
