I just upgraded to Win Me and I only installed the SB Live! drivers with no Liveware. I can't get four channel audio only two. Do I have to install Liveware for this? I really dont want to cuz its so bloated.

Did you set your speakers to 4 channel when you installed the drivers?

You don't need liveware, but you can get the mixer and audioHQ with the driver isntall. Just make sure you install them.

Hmm the driver never installed anything but the driver. I went ahead and installed Liveware and now I have 4 channel sound. Weird. Its a lot less bloated when you get it off the internet. The CD one is just huge.

no you don't...but when you installed your sb software...you had the option of choosing 4 speakers.
I htink you could go into the creative mixer and mess around with it...and make it 4 speakers there.

The SB software *is* LiveWare. And the no-4-speaker problem is strange, since my brother installed drivers-only for his Live Value and he got all four channels.

If you just install the drivers, you have look under Sounds & Multimedia Properties & click the AUDIO tab.
Under Sound Playback/Preferred Device Click the ADVANCED button & select quadrophonic Speakers, to get all 4 channels to work.

This is in WinMe & I know the menus are slightly different in WinSe/Win2000 but it shouldnt be too difficult to find.

do you have the creative Cambridge Soundworks Four Point Surround speaker package?

hehe, if so, check the little fade dial on your remote thingy. I had a problem getting rear sound, and it turned out that that was the only problem!

hehe. I just made a post about it.
