Do you need blue ray controller for PS3 to control movies?

The PS3 controller is actually quite handy for watching movies.

I agree, I particularly like the SIXAXIS control for fast forwarding, rewinding, and changing chapters.

please note, the above was meant as a joke. I have no first hand knowledge of how the PS3 controller works with DVD control.

actually you have to navigate a dragon through a 3d world and press the correct buttons, its not that great for when youre watching pron and you want to replay the good parts, its impossible to do with one hand so you gotta kind of pause and then fly the dragon to the rewind part and then fly him all the way back to play and then by then the lubes all dry and its all over the controller and just a hell of a cleanup, thankfully the controller is dishwasher safe.

Very nice. I bought the dvd controller for my ps2 back in the day and never used it more than a few months once I bought a dedicated dvd player. A waste of money.

I didn't even know the ps2 had a DVD controller...I always just used the regular ps2 controller. Never have I owned a dedicated DVD player; too many damn things play DVDs anyway.

If you ever find one really cheap, it's really not a bad investment. I use it all the time to navigate through the XMB and PSN store. Plus, you don't have to bother with turning it on and off like the controller.
