Do you need a better home theater remote?

I recently bought the Home Theater Master MX-500 for $135 shipped from etronics.com. You can read more about it here. I wanted one with a screen to customize my button labels, but also with hard buttons, because I don't want to have to look at the remote every time I want to change channels. Also, the bright blue illumination looks really nice, and you can program it to stay lit up to 99 seconds.

The MX-500 is a great remote, very easily customizable with your own labels on the LCD screen, and will easily learns your old remotes. There are 53 button functions available for each of 10 devices you want to control, which is more than enough for most people. I am using the pre programmed codes for it now, and things seem to work just fine. not to mention I now have a single remote to run the entire show, and it looks kickass.

I definitely need a good remote, I have five remotes :Q tv, receiver, dvd, vcr, cd player, I was thinking about mounting them on a board and making a custom face that would make it look like a keyboard type control center.

I also need a good remote. My home theater has about 5 separate remotes but i have them all combined into the one universal that game with my reciever. All is the same brand so it all works very well.

I'm happy with my Radio Shack 15-1994. There's a huge user following for this thing... Too bad it was just discontinued.
It also learns and can handle 6 devices. No screen though, just a bunch of buttons.
Only $35CAD :)

MX-500 is nice and that type of remote would be an upgrade for me. I'd never want a pronto...I need my buttons!

The new revision of the MX-500, which I received, has some changes. The keypad has changed from the original matte flat-topped keys to the new glossy "Gemstone" style used on the MX-700 and the MX-1000. The joystick has been redesigned, and the LCD screen has apparently also been slightly improved. The top of the remote has new round "On" and "Off" hard buttons.

Not at all. Actually, my controller will even play video over the active matrix screen. You all would be in remote heaven, but you would have to purchase about $2k in equipment first. AMX equipment isn't cheap.
