I picked up the book "meditation for dummies". A great read, so far I'm half way through it. My impressions of "mindful" meditation is that its really good for you. I have found that even though I'm a n00b at meditation, it has already had some positive effects. I am less anxious, more alert during the day, and more patient. I don't think I'll be shaving my head any time soon and joining the monestary, but was wondering if anyone else has an impression on this topic. :)

I hope you don't get too relaxed behind the wheel. Lol.

I've practiced Mindfullness for the last 8 or so years. I take a mindfull walk for an hour every morning and do 40 minutes sitting meditation every evening. I wonder how I did without it.

Hehe, we did a meditation thingy for half an hour in English (reading Passage to India). Teacher photocopied some pages of the dummies book. It made half an hour feel very very long! Some kids totally fell asleep :D

<--thinks it's easier to relax without the cheesy tape shoving imagery into me :)

I used to meditate, as it was the best way to control my migranes. But they've magically gone away, so I don't as much anymore.

i "meditate" if that is what you wanna call it. I relax to calm down before i go to bed and i do it in the morning to start my day in a good mood

When I go to bed, I usually think a lot before going to sleep. Isn't that the opposite of meditation (emptying your mind from everything)

Talk about polar opposites. Meditation leaves you calm and relaxed, golf leaves you with three anurisms and a bag of broken clubs.
