Its usefull for future reference on certain things. Maybe if someone IM's you a phone # or email address or something. Yes I log everything since trillian does by default, and they are public for the fiance to check if she really wanted to.

no... ICQ used to have a history, but since people stopped using it for some reason, I dont have anything logged, which is fine... but I still wish ICQ was big like it used to be!

It's built into Adiium, was built into ICQ, and it's just a nice thing to have. For fun, sometimes I will go back and look at old convos.
