I've worked at 4 places before, and never felt such a bad vibe. I actually considered quitting on Friday. Guess I got desperate. This sub-field of work bored the f*ck out of me in college, and I swore to never get into it; looks like I should have listened.
On my second day, my manager told me to drive out to 2 middle of nowheres alone on my third day (clocked 130km or 81 miles on my odometer). During my first day of briefing, I was told that I'd be paired up for the first few months when going out. So, way to ease the new guy in.
Aside from that, work is not challenging, just tedious. Pay is only reasonable, hours are long, commute sucks, area sucks, and corporate culture is crappy. I'm already putting an 'out' into action, but I will probably be there a few months to burn fewer bridges and ride out the recession.
Edit: grammar fail.
