Personally, I hate my job. I hear and see people at work that love it.
Just how do you figure out what you will like doing for a living?

I work from home
My Boss trusts my judgement
I am empowered to make decisions
I lead a team of absolute professionals (software developers)

Life is good in many ways.

P.S. - They treat me very well too. If one were considering a company to work for:
The "IBM" of the 2000's would be a good choice.

How large or an operation do they run in Indianapolis?

I help create/update web pages for my college.
Extremely flexible hours. College dress code (pajamas, slippers, and don't even remember how a razor works). Work with fellow geek friends. Really hot boss. Short commute (about 200 yards from my front door)

They pay is poor, and we have to work through CMS on an IBM S/390 Mainframe, but everything else about the job is so lax, and its so great to build experience, and have to add to my resume.

I like my job as a Field Service Engineer because it pays a hell of a lot more than any other job I could currently get. The silicon fabrication industry is growing so quickly and we are so strapped for people that I could call my boss a dic*head and still come to work the next day. Also I get to travel. (Scotland and Japan so far) WooHoo!!

Love my part-time job at the University.

I have the hightest position available for student workers.
Pay is nice.
Boss takes me out to eat.
Spend 15% of my time maintaining a server&website--35% studying--50% at the forums.
Cake.

Quite enjoyable. I pick up recycling bins on my bike from the dormitories. Completely flexible hours, relatively high pay (10 bucks an hour, good for unskilled college labor), get some exercise 4 days a week. Bikes At Work.
