do you like your boss(es)?

I was thinking about this today as 3 guys scheduled till 9 pm walked out the door as soon as our boss left at 6 pm.

I like my bosses as people. they're pretty nice guys. but they totally suck at management.

they're afraid of conflict, so they pretty much let people get away with murder in the department.

sucks that I have this crazy thing called a work ethic :frown:

my boss is my dad

he knows what hes doing...sometimes...if he actually pays attention and is at the place for more than an hour at a time.

as it is, he doesnt, and isnt, so me and the manager pretty well run the place most of the time.

My principal rocks.

She's smart, she's professional, and if we give it our all (within reason, of course) she rewards us with respect (she can't give us raises). She does a lot to keep us motivated.

Everyone I work with is extremely talented. My company seems to have a habit of recruiting people who just have a supurb skillset. I've never worked with any staff whom I did not respect, either as an engineer or as a person.

I'm actually hoping something really major goes down before 9 pm so that someone will have to explain why there were only two of us in the office with 5 people scheduled to be here right now (technically 7, but one guy is on vacation and one working in another data center till august).

I wish they were a little more proactive about the job, but they treat me like a king, so I can't complain.

I guess it doesn't take much to shine in the union environment.

well, there's nothing going on

but the fact is, we could have an HVAC failure at 8:30 and be totally fvcked with only two of us here.

(probably resulting in all three guys who left early getting fired on the spot and possibly my bosses as well)

Well, you pretty much described my beef with one of my bosses.

I have an internship at an acctg firm. I like my bosses. They're direct, fun to hang with.

I have a student job near campus, my property manager (private company) is completely passive, won't even make eye contact with people, hates conflict, and absolutely refuses to communicate openly, effectively, or even consistently.

Ugh.

My boss is awesome. It's a pretty small company (13 people), but she treats us all almost like we're family.

I like all my bosses except for my supervisor JUST above me. He gets annoying mainly because he just recieved a promotion into the position and doesn't really know how to handle power.
