Hehe, No harm done. They are having sales and those are actually the prices.

 to you FleshLight, I didn't try to bash ya.

On a serious note, who the hell cares what each of us wear? I spend extra and go for Abercrombie. Does that make me a Yuppie/Wasp?
Don't think so. I just wear it because I like the brand recognition I get + the comfort it provides.

tommy is still at 52.50, and since polo wants to compete with Lacoste and Burberry, they upped the price to 62.50. I still don't understand most of you people. You find the best deals for tech related stuff, but for clothes some of you really suck. I went to Saks 5th Ave Outlet and got a pair of Super 120's Armani Le Collezioni (one of their better lines, unlike A/X which is utter crap) that were usually $425. I got them for 26 bucks plus tax! Thats a hot deal. I don't remember the last time I paid ticketed price onan item. ou can always get clearance for 50% off plus additional 30% off plus a coupon maybe. I picked up 2 Polo Pima Cotton Knits for 11.99 a piece and ticket price was 97.50.

If I want to spend $40 on a vintage polo shirt that gets me brand name recognition, so be it, it's my money anyway.

Don't see why you guys like yapping so much. You like your wal mart garbage? Be my guest and keep wearing wall mart garbage.

I like my Abercrombie thanks.

Exactly my thoughts. All I wear is A&F and Hollister

Dress for success really is true. You never know who you may meet on the street, a business offer, or even a girl. I know all of you look at girls who are dressed nicely, not just in fvcking shytty clothes? How is that any different?

Personally, I'm quite a shallow person and if a girl wore walmart clothes, it'd be an instant turnoff.

But I guess since this is a tech forum where prices of Video Cards are more important than Clothes, this argument can't made me here.

I buy it occasionally on sale, or when I'm feeling like splurging. I usually stick to J. Crew.

I guess I'd be turned off by a woman that easily blows $300 on a plaid burburry scarf.

My point which I didn't clarify was that I'd love to see a girl dressed in A&F/Hollister/AE.

But that's just me.

Anubis have a cold one  to each his own.

Heh I did this thread on another board today with the same results. My thoughts, summed up:

1. People who complain about people spending money on more expensive clothing are annoying as hell, because there are legitimate differences in clothing quality, as well as personal tastes, that justify the increased price spent...

However, A&F is total crap clothing and not in any way a real "name brand," "designer label," or "luxury clothing," nor is it expensive in the grand scheme of the clothing industry, and anyone who is going to claim it is has no clue whatsoever. Therefore,

2. People who like to act like wearing A&F makes them superior/stylish/knowledgeable about fashion or clothing are idiots and clueless posers who should just shut up, because their existance is why there are so many annoying types mentioned in point 1.

this is all true, but I don't think anyone gets my point about AF not being overpriced. Simple as this:
You want to look cool among your peers, "high schoolers imitating the OC," you buy this brand.

You get what you pay for, and everyone knows what you've paid...

However, I know it is garbage, and I have not owned a single article of clothing from there.

I have a lot of Abercrombie clothes and seem to be better-dressed than a majority of people that I see. I also have an attractive girlfriend.

This is the most moronic place to discuss fashion that I can think of. Most here have no concept of what is "nice" and think that Walmart clothes is all that anybody needs. Enjoy trying to be successful in life when you get a job working in a nice cushy office wearing that stuff. Appearance *does* matter in the real world.

counter to that-when I see a woman with $300 scarf/handbag, I feel she is a whore, piker, or getting money from her parents/boyfirend/sugar daddy. I really don't know if she's some executive who actually bought that. On the other hand, when a guy dresses well, its human nature to compete with him, or at least acknowledge the fact that he is dressed well. "Woah thats a nice shirt must have been expensive." When I see a chick with the same purse as her friends, "What a dumb whore, just trying to be lik everyone else." So I guess I'm biased then.

Not a woman hater, but since where I live (North Shore Long Island) all I see are middle-upper class Jewish girls where mommy and daddy do everything for them. Granted I have a nice house, I drive a nice car, but I am grateful. I try to pull my own weight whenever I can (food, half of car payment, groceries for house etc.) Whereas, where I am, these bitches are not.

Well the point is the rabid people on both sides of the flamewar are really annoying idiots and it's a pain in the ass to see all clothing threads degenerate into this. The comment about all the flamewar participants being absolutely clueless about how to dress applies to everyone, including the A&F fanboys (which is why the latter is more annoying because they have the pretension that they aren't).

Nope, depsite your post, it's overpriced. I like some of their styles and blah, but when I walk into the store and see a shirt for $80 that I can basically get for $15 at Old Navy, same quality....it just won't fly for me. I really couldn't care less about namebrand recognition or "what it represents", I need my limited amount of money to count.

fixed-sorry boys, but AE is even more garbage. It's style is, "middle class hick."
Yeah, AE used to be great a looong time ago, when they weren't well known they weren't pushing the "I'm a yuppie in surfer's clothing" line.
