I have two "take-homes" this semester. They're not really take home because one is 8 hours and the other is 12 hours so you don't really have time to take them home and bring them back without wasting time. Rumors say it's impossible to finish either in the allotted time. Should be fun...
Yes, I had several in graduate school. Two that I remember took me at least 20 hours each to complete. One was a longer paper/journal-article type assignment that took at least several days to complete over the course of three months.
I like them because I'm a rather slow learner, so I always appreciate having time to let complex concepts mill around in my mind before I'm force to opine on them.
Depending on the course I think take-home finals are generally stupid. It's basically giving an out to anyone who wants to pay someone to do it for them.
I have had four years of college and have never had one. The closest thing i guess would be a final paper instead of an actually test..in anycase..i dont see the point unless it is an actually paper or something. If its just a test i dont see what the point is.

Depends on the class. In my graduate program (Tax accounting), you would have been hard-pressed to find a student in the program who would have been willing to do two finals (or who wouldn't have reported such an offer immediately to the school administration), a CPA/lawyer outside the program who would have been unethical enough to do it, or someone else who would have been qualified to do it.
No. In class finals only last a couple of hours, i had a take home final one time in a soils class that took me 24 hours straight to finish and was hard as hell.
