Do you like Sonic Youth? - Rain on Tin is EXCELLENT

...i've heard this song of the new album over 50 times and can't get tired of it. In a sense, its like a progressive rock form of the Greatful Dead which is truly strange as I've never been a fan of the dead. But this song, and the rest of the album is pretty damn good stuff.

I think "Pacific coast highway" is still my favorite, although i havent heard much new stuff..

when did this disc come out?

i think it came out in late june. It's called Murray Street which is where they have a studio and incidentally is where one of the plane engines landed from the Sept. 11 event....you can find out stuff and download a new song (empty pages i think) for free at sy's website
I'm pretty impressed with the new stuff. Its somewhat more refined than earlier stuff but they still include alot of breaks of classic sonic youth noise rock. pacific coast highway huh? I'm really missing a gap in time in exposure to their stuff. I really loved daydream nation and bought pretty much everything upto the experimental jet set etc. album and haven't heard much from then to the new stuff. But its great to see them putting out new stuff.
