Just a poll. This is often regarded as a "luxurious" meal and I've noticed some people do not like it.

I like it, but I think there is an "aura" that makes it more desirable than it really is because it's luxurious reputation.

Vote now.

No. Either and both lead me to projectile vomit. My dinner companions would not appreciate my keen appreciation of such fare.

I like crab a lot. I've only had artificial lobster, but I liked it.

I love crab and lobster cakes. I don't, however, enjoy eating lobster though (if that makes sense).

shellfish is the only seafood i find tolerable. crab meat doesn't seem to have much flavor, though.

'cause you don't like ripping apart what resembles a giant insect? that's my issue.

You dip the stuff in butter. What's not to like?

Lobster is bloody expensive here on the west coast. Apparently only the poor people in the maritimes out east eat lobster because it's so cheap. Can't get a decent piece of beef out there.

Still, I'll take our pacific sockeye anyday. Raw, cooked... whatever.

Alaskan king crabs and lobsters are pretty close to being tasteless for me. I wouldn't waste money on them.

Canadian crabs and those tiny blue crabs are deliciously sweet. Boil them in lemongrass, green onions, cilantro, and a little salt....and dip them in hotsauce. Excellent stuff, but it seems they are best during a certain time of year?

I grew up on the East coast where lobster was plentiful and cheap...I LOVE lobster.

I USED to like crab until I spent a summer working in a wholesale fish market where in an average week, I'd spend 3 days cracking snow crab for big crab feeds. I was able to eat all I wanted while I worked, so <smash-smash goes the hammer> Some for the restaurant, some for Boomer...some for the restaurant, some for Boomer, some for Boomer, some more for Boomer, some for.....I used to do much the same thing with Alaskan King Crab as well, but not in such large quantities.

By the end of the summer, I'd probably eaten 100 lbs of crab...and was sick of the stuff. Nowadays, I don't think I'd walk across the road for a free "all you can eat" crab feed.

I'm not a huge seafood lover...fish is okay, not a big fan of oysters, scallops and the like. But shrimp, lobster, and crab are possibly the best foods in the world. Shrimp would probably be number one, just because it's more convenient than crab, but there is absolutely nothing better than picking apart a fresh crab, with some old bay and butter...

Now I'm hungry.
