I find my experience to be much more enjoyable than going to UPS or fedex shipping places. One clear advantage I've seen is that UPS is cheaper if you're going to tack on features like tracking and insurance while USPS is cheaper if you're just shipping a package with no amenities.

Hate going to the post office, always have to wait at least 15~20 mins to be helped and employees couldn't give a crap about working faster even when the place is full. Some post offices now have the self serve stations for small packages though which is convenient unless you get behind some old or foreign person who is baffled by the technology <-- these people can also be found at ATM's.

I love going to the post office, as it means I sold something worth a lot of money on eBay, over $500!

It's no big deal going to the post office here. There is an automated machine that does everything which is open 24 hours a day. I just go in the middle of the night. :)

I go to what has been called the friendliest post office in the country: 93022.

It might very well be.

My local post office is always empty and the woman who works there does not annoy me as much as most human beings do, so I don't mind.

Edit: This is an English post office by the way, I have heard nothing but bad things about American post offices and postal workers, this includes my own experiences in 1993, 1996 and 1997.

Ned Flanders summed it up nicely: I don't like the service at the post office. You know, it's all "rush rush! get'cha in, get'cha out!" Then they've got those machines in the lobby, they're even faster, no help there. You might even say, I hate the post office.

The post office is the most disgusting place in the world. Those lines are terrible. I question the intelligence of the USPS and the government. I've never had to wait more than 10 min at FedEx and this was jsut ONCE because there were 8 ppl in line and this was right after work. Otherwise, my usual wait is about 1 minute @ fedex, and 30 seconds at DHL, and almost zilch at UPS.

The Berkeley USPS is retarded. There's a line of 30 people and obviously I'm smart so I do prepaid shipping. But you can't drop off your boxes at all. You have to take a number and then wait. Hello? I have class to run to? Work? Who knows, why do I need to wait in line for a dropoff. BUt instead I have to wait for the idiotic clerk to finish wtih a customer so he can call me over (meaning I cut in line) and he takes my box, weighs it and see its ok and then I can go. Efficiency? Hello? With UPS you can drop off any box and walk away. Just as long as they know you're dropping it off, they'l lhandle it later even if its just on the ocunter. If you underpaid, you get billed later. Big deal.

My post office @ home is a lot better. Instead of 1 clerk serving 30 people in line @ Berkeley, it's more like 4 - 5 serving 20people in line. Moves a lot faster, and they're decently nice folks. Still I question why the line needs to be so long.

My post office isnt so bad, I live in a small town so the lines arent terrible. However the DMV is always packed with the scum of the earth, and these people always manage to have 40+ crying babies...

Well, the USPS where I got is in a place with old people who clearly don't need to ship anything. :p Very quiet, nice and friendly environment. The main postoffice in my town is bustling and loud, kind of like the DMV.

the post office here is nice and friendly...

Just drop the package off thats prepaid and you're off...

Course they can be like UPS or Fedex here in Seattle, where they just deliver and go... (had a nice chat with the UPS guy... .delivered my packages in good condition.)

That's like asking, "Do you like having bamboo shoved under your finger nails."
