Sounds like you mean Ryan Adams (Whiskeytown, "New York"), not Bryan Adams ("Cuts Like a Knife", "It's Only Love").

And my favorite Bryan Adams song....Take Me Back.

In fact i am listening to it as i type this edit.

Bryan's duet with Tina Turner on "It's Only Love" is a rock classic :)

I don't own any of his CDs, but I'd say he's the more talented of the two, not to mention the less mopey and sullen.

There was a time when I couldn't help but sing along this song.

I do a good karaoke rendition of that. I'm not a fan of Bryan Adams, but a handful of his stuff is okay.

But Ryan Adams is alt-country.

Since Bryan Adams has no connection to country at all, your statement that you "fricken hate country but like Bryan Adams" made no sense. I gave you the benefit of the doubt, that you meant the alt-country Adams.

So do you fricken' hate opera but like Red Hot Chili Peppers? Despise disco but are fond of Faith No More?

I never heard of him until I saw him in battery park in NYC a few years ago. I enjoyed the music although I never regarded Ryan Adams as country but I could see a strong country/folk influence in his songs. If thats the case I guess he's the only recent country musician I can stand. I do like some old country that really borders more on folk/blues/country.

EDIT Oops I meant Ryan not Bryan

You never heard of Bryan Adams until a few years ago?? How old are you? He had a lot of hits in the 80's.

Don't forget

Please Forgive Me
Cuts Like Knife
Everything I Do
Have You Ever Loved A Woman
Heaven

Man, that dude had so many hits, I can't believe people haven't heard of him. I would love to see a Sarah Mclachlan cover of all his songs.
