Do you let people eat/drink in your car?

It's a touchy subject with me. Case in point, had a friend in my vehicle yesterday and she ate a candybar and when she left I noticed a smudge of chocolate on my gray cloth seat. It came off after I cleaned it up, but it reminded me that, no... no... I do not like people eating/drinking in my car, but how do you just come out and say it without sounding like a pretentious biotch?

Have you ever forbid someone from eating/drinking in your vehicle?

Drinks are okay, but food is not.

I don't think I've ever had to tell anyone to not eat in my car.

Drinks, yes... Food, yes...

It depends on the person and the food though, but generally yes.

Usually people have covers on those things, and if they did that then I would not let them drink or eat in my car again.
covers don't always stay on. : /

it was a co-worker. she has not brought coffee into my vehicle since.

Yes, I allow people to both eat and drink in my car. Though when a coworker borrowed my work truck and left powdered sugar from his donuts all over the seat, that pissed me off.

I will not allow smoking in my car.

Yes, my car is transportation and that's it. I don't even have a radio after mine got stolen 7 months ago.

What if the person spills coffee in your vehicle? I had that happen once, really sucks.

Steam clean it out eventually?

My car is like a home away from home because I love to road trip, so 12-16 hour road trips without snacks and drinks would be miserable! :)

Then my car will have coffee stains when it finally dies and goes to the junkyard :)

The only thing I don't allow is smoking because that stench lingers.

No one will ever smoke in a car of mine. That goes without saying. But I have a bit of a hard time telling them no eating/drinking. I guess I don't mind the drinking so much, it's the greater potential of sloppiness with eating.

I used to care about that, but don't anymore. My car is just a tool, just like my hammer or shovel, it needs to be of decent quality, but it will get mud and scrapes on it.

Well with some of the things we all know you do in the car mosh I think a bit of food and drink is the least of our worries.

Depends on the person and the car. If it's one of my work cars and a close friend, then yes. If it's the Mach 1 or my F150, then hell no.

It depends on the person. If I trust them to be neat about it I'm fine but if they're a slob then I'd definitely say no.

no one does, but I wouldn't care if they did as long as it was a cup with a lid or whatever.

I eat/drink in my own car all the time.
