Do you let others sign your yearbook?

I don't..partly because I don't like doing what "everyone else does", and because most people at my school don't have anything good to say. I have my 8th grade yearbook signed, and it's done nothing but cause a cluster and I don't even read it.

All of my yearbooks have disintegrated from old age, but I am sure they were signed.

Who cares if no one says anything particularly meaningful? Its a yearbook, you're not looking for someone to write a profound novel. Its all part of the high school experience. Last day of class, not doing a damn thing but talking to friends and writing stupid stuff in a year book. I got my year book signed when I was in high school.

So basically you do it, because it's what you're "supposed to do", like going to the prom and all that?

And all you people need to stop typing in bold! I was the first non-mod to reserve the right to do so!

sometimes people write stupid things like PENIS PENIS PENIS, but hey, that's what high school was like, so as long as it captures the true essence of high school, that's fine with me. not letting people sign your yearbook sounds so anti-social-loserish. hahahahaha

Umm, no. You do it because you want to. If you don't want to, then don't. I did it because I wanted to. But really I don't see why you are so concerned about not doing this because "everyone else does it." Signing a yearbook isn't taking drugs, its a simple thing high school kids do. I actually got out my yearbooks not too long ago to browse through them, and you know what? No one says anything meaningful, no one. But, reading the things people wrote brought back memories, and it was cool for me to think back to those days. I read the things some of my close friends wrote, however stupid, and it made me remember how fun it was just to hang with friends with not a damn thing to worry about.

I know it's cool to say you don't like to do what "everyone else does," but damn, lighten up a little. Your high school days are times you will never live again. You may think you have problems, but I'd be willing to bet that your life will never again be as simple as it is for you in high school. Enjoy it while you can.

Of course you do. I had a message in mine by a girl I liked. Let me just say I liked that message very much and some things led from it:p.

What are you going to do about it, huh? Personally, I hate it when you write in bold, so you get no sympathy from me.

I only let my close friends sign it. Most people just pass it around at lunch and have everyone sign it .. including those people who they talk to twice a week at most. I don't like that so I only get a few sigs from close friends.

Of all the yearbook signatures in all my yearbooks, I think there were maybe two (one from my good friend the other from my GF) that weren't totally stupid. And I'm glad they are all there.

It's fun to smetimes look back at what people wrote and think about all the stupid stuff you did in HS.

LOL i don't think this is so much a case of something you won't do as something you can't do. You got no friends at school?

Anyways, the best thing about year books are the comments, especially in a few years when you look back on it. I love reading my friend's year books (from different schools). And the comments aren't meant to be meaningful... those that are are usually from people who barely know you. But from friends, they should be silly.
