yeah, it took about a month of casual thinking of memorizing the plate number.

Same with my cellphone number, although it took me longer to memorize it.

Then again, my first job involved recording hundreds of license plate numbers, so it kinda habituated me to it.

had my plates for 2 years and I couldn't remember them. Not anymore. The State of Michigan required everyone to switch to the new standard plate last year. I have not memorized it yet.
