I saw the title question on an article on yahoo's homepage with this symbol, and I cracked up:

tirepressure300.jpg

To me, it looks like this text symbol ==> (_!_), which I used to use to express disdain on P&N along with the old :lips; symbol from the FT board. :D

My first guess was that it was a warning for powder rooms that someone left the seat ring up.

I'd post the real answer, but it would spoil the fun.

I saw that on my car for the first time last winter, when the temp dropped to like -5 my tires only registered around 25-27PSI.

The picture is very clearly a picture of somebody's saggy ass. The picture of the saggy ass is clearly a reminder that your tires might be low, and saggy, like that person's ass.

A dimwit at work called it "King Triton" and could not figure out why the light on her Mazda was flashing.

After being told it was TPMS she then asked "so what do I do about it?"

I think this is a repost. In fact, I think the other thread had the exact same title even.

Ok, I can't find it, so ignore that. Serious deja vu though.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System. Even if you didn't know that, in context (vehicular dashboard), it's very clearly a cross-section of a run-flat tire.

TPM - tire pressure monitor. im honestly surprised it took this long for it to be standard in all cars. so many goddamn potholes everywhere that at least one of my tires breaks every year.
