Do YOU know what RC5 is? DPC moves into 4th overall, anandtech to lay down and roll over?

DPC lays waste to the Russian team, sets sights on Evangelista (3rd). after that we're dead. I suppose none of you care, but this is Anandtech's honor we are trying to defend!

we need to reqruit not only from our BBS (seeing as whoever HAS seen this and hasn't joined by now obviously doesn't care), but from EVERYWHERE. it's cruch time fellas, we can't let the Dutch Power Cows waste us..

Join up and try it for a while, you can still become a part of the team before we take first place! 🙂

We need alot more members to keep first for very long though, the DPC's are gunning for us!

Anandtech averages around 600 to 630 members each day...🙁

The DPC averages 1200 to 1400 members each day....🙁

Out of 30K+ registered (not really, but you know)...Only a small percentage have actually tried Distributed Computing...I tried it...Now I couldn't stop if I wanted too...Too Addicting! Give it a try...If you don't think it's for you, than thanks for stopping by...If you like it, GREAT and welcome aboard....

If you have any questions, drop by the Distributed Computing Forum and ask away...The good folks over there will bust their @ss to help you!

Lets stop the DPC together...What do you say?

All you hardcore overclocker out there. This is the best time to get your system to work. It only use unused CPU cycles. Any help will greatly appreciated. Please go to Distributed Computing to check it out.

Also, make sure that if you have a new client, you set the buffer to do more RC5 than OGR. That freaking new client has to be screwing blocks out of TA.

yeah Paulson's website is great for configuring your cracking program.. it keeps us from answering questions.. hehe..

What did I have to do with the new client? My client currently finishes 24 RC5 packets I think and then switches over to OGR, to avoid this I've had to update and restart if it does jump into OGR. Is there a way to get it to work on RC5 packets indefinitely?

Ok, I've been beaten into submission. I joined.

TeamAnandtech now has the power of my P3-933 Win2k system cracking 24/7.

Nice page, Paulson.

I never joined before because I never used to leave my computer on all of the time, and when it was on, I was pounding it pretty hard and didn't want RC5 taking up any overhead.

But in the last week I've started running a webserver from my computer, so now I'm leaving it on all of the time... This is a good way to make me feel not so guilty about wasting electrical power to keep up a page that will receive, at best, 2 hits a day.

Which reminds me ... I have a sh!tload of packets on a PPro200 not connected to any network that's been running for a whole year ... I think it's prolly doing random packets for the last 11 months or something ... better dump it 😉

JaiKnight,

add the following line to you Dnetc.ini file:

[misc]
project-priority=RC5,CSC=0,OGR=0,DES=0

That will cause the client to run RC5 alone...You may want to restart the client at that point..

Hey All, I download the client a few days ago and put in my yahoo email under the "Configure" menu. It's been over 48 hours and I've uploaded 2 work units but I can't seem to lookup my account on the web site to get a password. Someone please help? The email I entered is bannor11@yahoo.com

I just downloaded and installed Russ dialup setup disk. I just changed his url to mine in the first option. I uninstalled Rain (and I'm damn scared now, so I went back to default speed). My lowly Celeron 500 @ 500 cpu usage is 100%, so I suppose that means I'm cracking. No cow in the system tray, as he mentions. What next? Should I expect something in the mail after 24 hours have passed. Can I still put my system on standby and crack only for the 12+ hours each day that I spend in front of my computer or should I just make my monitor standby?

Crap. I just realised that the RC5 missionary's persistence finally got to me. Ack! :Q

😉

I don't seem to find any way to access the configuration window from the RC5 folder and RC5 doesn't show in my start program, so I'll let it go like Russ has configured it and see what happens. I'll just crack for the 12-16 hours each day that I'm on the PC and put it to standby with ZoneAlarm set to 'Stop All Internet Activity' when I'm sleeping or out of the appartment. Still better than what I was doing before (nothing hehe). Anyway, it's just a C500, not even a Celeron 2. 😉

Thanks

bannor11 and Dennilfloss, Distributed.Net did not run stats on sunday, so you may have to wait one extra day to get your info. Thanks for joining the team! 🙂
