Do you know of any good A+ certification prep books?

I have taken some online courses, and I think I know the material fairly well, but I know there is a lot of stuff that I still might want to know. I'm looking for a good A+ cert. book. Any suggestions? Thanks!

A+ for dummies? I've got that lying around somewhere. It was OK, but I never took the test, I was told I wouldn't get a job with A+ and should go for something more substantial and specific or a degree.

A freind used to work at an engienering firm. A co-workeer that hired filtered resumes as follows:

1) A+ cert: garbage
2) bachelors degree: candidate pile.

This is not far from the truth.

I'd recommend Mike Meyers A+ All-in-One Certification Guide, Fifth Edition.

Regardless of which book you order, you'd better hurry. If I remember correctly, new A+ exams will be released before the end of the year, and the current A+ exams will be retired in December.

I don't think you can compare A+ to a BA/BS. One requires some years of school. The other... does not... not even close.

I'm reading the Mike Meyers one mentioned above. It seems like a good book. It has about 1100 pages but a lot of it is illustrations so it goes by fast. It has a CDROM in the back with 12 practice tests of 50 questions each too.

Despite what people say, I'm sure having an A+ cert will at least get you a job at a small computer shop or CompUSA/BestBuy as a tech.

a+ is worthwhile when you are starting off. also, it has some bits and peices that aren't covered in any of the other common certifications. like aspects of computer hardware.
