Do you know anyone who's won any sort of sweepstakes?

The closest I can say is a neighbor boy who got a free SUV from the McDonald's Monopoly game. Of course, his parents collected for him. That isn't quite a sweepstakes.

I won a 7*UP BMX bike in a grocery store raffle when I was a kid. My sister won a trip to DisneyWorld from the same store (Schwegmann's Kids Week).

My gf's grandfather won the NYState lottery.
 
I know a guy who won $183,000 gambling online. His gambling addiction got the best of him, however, & he blew that & just about everything else he owned. His wife even left him.
 
A former paralegal of mine recently won $1 million in the Washington Lottery. She actually meant to buy a ticket for the Mega Millions when the jackpot was at $220M, but the clerk accidentally sold her a state lottery ticket. He said it would be a hassle to return it, so she kept it, only to find it was a winner!
 
No really large dollar amount item, but I have won:

$2000 laptop
4 mountain bikes
$500 in merchandise from AltaVista
$200 watch
Sony Boombox
$100 savings bond

The only one that provided a tax form was the laptop and I paid the taxes on it (although I found the same model on sale for a lot less and used that as the value for taxes with no problem.)
 
One winter I spent about an hour each night filling out online sweepstakes forms. I won a few knick-knacks, like an autographed Jackie Chan DVD.

I won a 42" Panasonic plasma HDTV and an HP Media Center PC from Microsoft at CES this year. Only thing I've ever won...guess my luck is improving 😀

I won a guitar signed by Our Lady Peace in a Borders give away.... My father years back won 10 grand from lotto... A woman I work with won one of those best buy shopping sprees..... Hmmmm, My girlfreind won summer tickets for all concert events at Freedom Hill..... She won that from a borders giveaway also...
