Do you know anyone that has been (or is) in prison?

Yea I took care of a couple state pen inmates last week. My hospital deals with prisoners all the time, most of them are pretty cool....well to an extent obviously.

My ex-roommate. Plus everyone else on that godforsaken block - it was so bad we knew the police officers by name.

That's my experience too. The couple of guys I know that have been in PMITA prison are usually ok. But to borrow a saying from a T-shirt... (Instead of a-hole) Instant criminal: Just add alcohol/meth/whatever.

Generally the coolness factor disappears when you walk in the room to 3 state cops or whatever and the handcuffs etc :p

One of my fraternity brothers is in PMITA prison... wouldn't doubt he likes that part of it.

I've known several. I have one cousin who did like ten years for having like 5 pounds of heroin or some crazy shiz(he lost a testicle there when he got beat up). I have a female cousin doing time now too for a similar type thing although I don't know the specifics other than she missed her mom's funeral last fall because she was still in the pen.

I've known a bunch more people but it seems a lot of people don't have any common sense and end back in there within months of being released... usually charged for the same crimes. You gotta wonder why people take chances like that.

Sure, one of my oldest friends. Dotcommer who signed financials he shouldn't have - Princeton, Wharton MBA and now doing 10 months at a Federal pen.

My best friend served 3 years for assault with a deadly weapon back when we were very young (late teens). I don't condone the action that put him in prison, he was wrong and he paid his debt. I am very proud however of his actions since he got out. He took a lowly job on an ice cream truck and a a paper route.

Through his hard work and determination he now owns at least 8 multi unit and single family properties, a restaurant and a hair salon.

He's now a model citizen, has been for over 15 years...

My neighbor just got paroled the other day. He is already making fights with the neighbor and will probably be gone before the week is over.
Too bad, I like the guy. He has just never had any parenting.

A close relative of mine got out of the state work farm a few months ago. The DEA ran up in his house a few years ago and he was charged with 16 felonies(marijuana and ecstasy trafficking). Lots of money was paid to get the ex DA as his lawyer and he pleaded guilty to one marijuana trafficing charge . He served two years in a state work farm. Thank god for our great legal system.

Although you did say prison, which a work farm hardly counts as. My relative was actually the head gardener, putting him in charge of the greenhouse off the work farm grounds. He would leave the grounds unescorted to tend to the plants daily. He could have escaped hundreds of times, but that would be a horribly retarded thing to do.

A guy I used to work with did some time. I can't remember what he was in for, but he had been a speed freak (as in the drug, not cars) so it may have been for possession or burglarly.
