Do you know any Chinese majors who are non-chinese?

Yes, yes I know there ARE MANY OUT THERE. But I am asking if you know any personally??

There is a girl (no pics, and I mean it!) who is in two of my economics courses. Well, she is one of those smart ones and quiet. Always gives the correct answers. Well, one day, she asks me a question concerning Chinese homework (I finished my chinese minor 1 year ago). I was like, "um...yes, you wrote the ESSAY correct!" Her writing is as good as her speaking.

Well, it happens she is half-italian and half-french and in love with the chinese language and food (authentic stuff, not Chinese-American stuff)

Funny thing is...before class everyday, we chat about chinese homework and the chinese professor (she and her husband graduated from princeton, she wants SMU chinese program to be competitve with Princeton and Middlebury...lol)...well, all the frat guys will stare at her as if she was speaking in tongues...looks white, but speaks chinese fluently! They always comment, what language are you speaking? She just chuckles and ignores them.

I do believe her boyfriend is chinese too...

And yes, she is really cute, if not Fine.

Also, she is really cool! She has almost the same views and morals as I do, which is cool cuz on Friday, we talked for nearly an hour about abortion this, women's rights this, Clinton this, etc. I mean, this girl is more conservative than ME! And I thought I was quite conservative. IE. NO ABORTION, period. I mean, she doesn't care if incest or rape. No abortion.

She is cool person to talk to though.

Georgetown's School of Foreign Service had quite a few; for any concentration within that school, you also have to pass a language proficiency exam for the language of the country your concentration was in, prior to matriculating.

I'm not like "O MAN, there is A WHITE GIRL SPEAKING CHINESE!"

HOWEVER, once we were in this benihana restaurant (forgot location).

Well, our "cook" was Mexican. There was only three of us on the table, my sis, father and I. Well, you know, they cook in front of you on the grill. Well, my dad (first and last time I ever witnessed him doing this) said in chinese "he is not good with his hands."

Apparently, the guy miscut some of the vegetables and meat...

So he is done cooking our food and serves to us. Then as he leaves, he says IN CHINESE, "thank-you." So to save face, my father asks him how does he know chinese...he replies he worked in chinese restaurant for 10 some years...I mean, the guy didn't speak well, but his vocabulary was incredible.

hmm....there were only a handful of non-chinese in my chinese language classes. Even fewer were fine gwei mui's that could speak chinese.

Dude, I'm an ABC at Berkeley... I'm walking between classes one day and I see this black guy giving a tour to some Taiwanese/Chinese students in fluent Chinese.

FREAKED ME OUT!! Not something that you see/hear every day!

Apparently, I have a bit of slang when I speak chinese (guess I never took time to speak it right!)...so when I say "negga" it does really sound like the N-word, for some reason. and I joke you not, it really sounds like the N-word.
