Do you keep the original case and insert from your CD's?

I've got all my CD's in a big CD binder, but now I've got all the cases and their inserts.

I don't know if I want to throw them out (I keep the jewel cases that dont have stickers, etc for burned CD's) :) They'd just sit here collecting dust.

Why not put your burned CDs in the binder, and your original CDs back in their cases?

BTW, there's no way I'd throw them out, that's better than half the value of the thing when you go to sell it. My God, how much room do they take up anyway?

I keep the cd case, insert, tape that held the cd closed, and plastic wrapping all in perfect order. Usually takes me 10 minutes to carefully open up a cd that I had just purchased. Yes its a wierd nit-picky thing of mine.

Why would you throw away the original case and insert? That's the best way to store them (in a CD bookcase).
My burned copies are what I play from, put in a CD binder, and take in the car, etc. In fact, my original CDs are rarely even played from, I use the copies and encoded mp3's.

What the OP does is just plain ass-backwards...

I keep it all. The binder thing is what the burned CDs go in..or they just stay on the spindle.

Yes, I put the original jewel cases and inserts, along with my VHS tapes in a couple of wooden cabinets w/locking doors.

I toss the jewel boxes (the flimsy plastic case) and keep the CDs and inserts in plastic envelopes with self-stick flaps. I started collecting binders but they were becoming bulkier and more of a pain than the original cases were.
I've trashed hundreds of jewel boxes over the years.
They take up way too much space and are too heavy when you have a few hundred of the damn things.
The envelopes I keep in boxes eventually to be stored in drawers of my own making.

I like the liner notes, lyrics, art and knowing the recording engineer/where it was mastered.
