No, and not sure why anyone would do that.
I live in earthquake country. If my house is shaken or burns to the ground or both and God knows what else goes wrong, as long as I can get into my car I will have access to what's in it. I have $100 hidden in there as well as a lot of emergency supplies, such as shoes, other clothes, a blanket, a first aid kit, flashlights, batteries, flares, a bunch of food and water, the list goes on.... I saw a list in the newspaper by a guy who's an expert auto mechanic (he teaches this at an institution of higher learning as well as having a weekly column), that was far more exhaustive than mine. But I don't drive much at all, don't make the kinds of trips he does, so I don't carry a lot of the stuff he does and suggests.
Imagine you're suddenly homeless and the weather's terrible. That could happen to you if you are at the center of a disaster. I try to be prepared for that.
