Do you keep a backup cell phone in your car?

I have an old tri-mode digital phone in my car. I have a blackberry now.... was considering selling the phone but I'll only get $20 for it on Ebay...

worth it to carry a second phone around for emergencies?

I have a small box full of old working phones but I don't think it's necessary to carry any of them around with me.

Keep some change and use a pay phone maybe?

Anyone else remember what the world was like before cell phones?

I did for a short time, before I gave that phone to a friend.
The one time so far my car has broken down, my phone had low battery, and it almost ran out after I had called to get a lift home from the local garage.

Always useful to have a full charged phone around if anything does go wrong.
When I get a new phone, I'm going to stick my current one fully charged in the car, since I don't have a car charger atm.

It was a dark age.

Now texting on the other hand, I could do without that.

I have a STi Mobile phone in the glove box of my car. It's inactive now so I can't dial out besides emergency 911 calls. But it's better than ever.
I think having a backup prepaid phone is good (like a TMo with 1 year expiration date).

No, but I should. I used to have an old nokia i would leave in the car and use when I did sports.

But now I gave it to my grandparents.

Yes, I have a ten-year-old analog cell phone with cigarette lighter adapter under the backseat. It doesn't have a service plan, but all phones, whether they have a service plan or not, will call 911. I figure that it doesn't take up much space, so why not, be prepared, better safe than sorry.
