Default Nexus 4 ringtone, it's nice and not obnoxious.

I do judge those that use music as their ringtone. Also those people that can't turn their fucking phone off during meetings. Really, you know we have a meeting turn it off.

I judge anyone who isn't on vibrate.

This. And most of my coworkers don't put their phones on vibrate. At least they don't get very many calls.

What bothered me more was at a previous job, not only would everyone leave their phones on, but they would leave them on their desks when they were at lunch, and people would regularly call them several times in a row while they were gone. Too much shit wrong with all that for me to even list.

My current tune is In This Moment - Blood - Rise With Me

I love the opening. Regular ring ring boring. I change it monthly.

You're judged if you don't have it on vibrate even if it's a regular ring and you're out in public? Wow, people today. What else should we automatically know?

I never have it on vibrate because I don't have the phone on me all the time... like in a different room at home for example and I still want to know it's ringing. I'm not switching the ringer on/off/vibrate multiple times a day. Oh wait, I'm going out now, I must silence it so others won't be annoyed for the 2 seconds it does ring!

Wow I didn't know we had so many "Vibrate or Die!" Nazis here at AT.

It has more to do with the stupid people who have no sense of common courtesy for others than a ringtone vs no ringtone. Like someone mentioned people leaving their full volume phones laying on a desk when they are nowhere around in an office. Some peoples phones ring non stop. Or get a text every 10 seconds. Have 3-4 people around you do that and you will quickly want to toss their phones into the toilet.

There is so much bad etiquette around phones I don't even know where to begin. They represent so much wrong with the self absorbed me me culture today.

I don't judge people by their ring tones, I just stay away from them (or anyone that can't put down a phone for more than 5 min).

YEah, LOTS of shitty people

I find that I do a little bit - like the lady that uses a crying baby for a ring tone

My pet peeve is when people use an actual piece of music (as opposed to something designed solely for the purpose of being used as a ringtone), because it sounds horrible through the phone's speaker.

My own phone just has a standard ringing tone (plus I've enabled vibrate on the normal setting), though I do have the noises made by the 'Mother' computer from Alien as the SMS notification, it makes quite a few people think 'WTF?' :) The reason why I did that was that my wife and I both have HTC phones and the texting notification sounds are too similar.

Actually, I want to punch anyone who uses a ring tone. Put it on vibrate.

You must be quite an angry person pretty much all of the time.

FWIW I remember hearing Samsung was coming out with a neat new feature- Purse mode. They are going to use the proximity sensor to detect if your phone is in a purse or pocket and adjust volume based on that. It should help a lot with the above situation.
