If I was an American citizen I would not vote for a third party candidate because they do not have the numbers to win.

Can't or won't?

Won't. I'm already registered in my state so I'm going to find out who I can call to remove my registration so I can be removed as one of their statistics. I'm going to be a part of the 60% of people who aren't voting. Politics is an evil game that serves to divide us all into groups to determine who gets power and control where whichever group succeeds somehow obtains the right to boss everyone else around. Its sick and its wrong.

Welcome to 1776.

Hmm odd, it feels more like 1984.

I'm in NY, and do not plan on voting for Obama, so my vote will break down to either McCain/Palin as the lesser of two evils, or I'll vote third party/write-in on principle.

When all is said and done, I'll probably just pretend my first time voting in a Presidential election didn't happen in '08.

I was leaning Obama but considering McCain.... Sarah Palin pushed me over to solid Obama.

I'm in Florida, so my vote matters :)

I think the large consensus of third party voters don't do it thinking their candidate will win, but vote for them more-so as a "screw you" to the two major parties.

I have yet to meet anyone who fully embraces the candidacy of a third party candidate.

My vote for Pres very likely won't matter to anyone but me. Every other race is competitive and there is even the slightest hint of a chance the Reps will lose the State House. Plus I have to vote down some really stupid referendum questions.

I'm voting for Cynthia McKinney because she consistently stands up
for "the people" and also has the guts to ask tough questions (about
9-11, among other things.)

on the other hand, Palin being on McCain's ticket may inspire me
to vote Obama.

No but seriously, welcome to 1776. Not having a vast majority of Americans voting in elections is about as American as you can get, and I don't mean that necessarily in a bad way. Some people don't have time to vote, tens of millions aren't even 18 yet so they can't vote, and others sometimes choose not to vote if they feel they're not informed. You choosing not to vote because others don't vote, somehow believing the system is "unfair", is just the highest order of not "getting it".

I'll be voting Bob Barr of the Libertarian Party (voted Libertarian also in 2004 and 2000, which was my first presidential election where I was old enough to vote). Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party is a really good alternative and who Ron Paul is endorsing this year. Don't like the Christian fundamentalism of the Constitution Party, but Baldwin has mostly taken that crap out of his platform and has even reached out for the atheist/agnostic vote. But my vote goes to Barr

To be honest, any vote that is not for McCain or Palin is a good vote in my opinion. I support Obama/Biden however I realize that a vote for McCain and Palin is not something I would do in the best interests of myself and other people.
