it's a lot easier to back out of a spot than back in.
Um. How does backing into a spot avoid using reverse?
I maintain that backer-inners are inconsiderate retards who are too fat or too lazy to utilize their necks.
I find a stop where both sides are empty and drive through to the other side, thus park "head out"

This. When I can find a "pull through" spot, I do a little happy dance.
It only takes me a couple of more seconds to back into the spot.
It only takes 1 unseen child to come running by that you didn't see backing out to forever ruin everybody's lives
Deal with it haters
You may remember the recent legislation about rear-view cameras, because of children getting run over. These tragic incidents could have been nearly 100% avoided simply by head-out parking.
You're being considerate to others by not being considerate to others?
If it only took you 3 seconds people wouldn't be swearing at you in parking lots.I'm trying to prevent accidents and injury while you are arguing for impatient assholes.

Just wait the extra 3 seconds, I will be able to get you back those precious seconds pulling out and be safer doing it.

I could not disagree more.
When you're backing into a spot, the other cars are sitting still and not moving. You know exactly where they are and it is literally impossible for a car to come out of nowhere in a blind spot. It is almost infinitely easier to back into a spot than it is to back out. Especially since cars immediately next to you severely limit lateral vision when backing out (at least, that's what happens to me, but I drive cars that are fairly low to the ground). If I'm backing out of a spot with a car next to me, I've got to get 3 or 4 feet out before I can see any meaningful distance to the side to tell if someone is coming down the aisle in the lot.
Backing in, by comparison, takes no time at all, and gives me a vastly improved field of view when leaving the spot. Of course, my first job was as a valet parking attendant so I got a lot of experience backing cars into cramped spaces when I was younger so that may play into it.
Given the number of people who can't parallel park I'm not surprised by the number who apparently think that something as simple as backing into a spot is somehow difficult or time consuming.
EDIT: This applies only when parking perpendicularly to the aisle; if the parking spaces are angled that solves the vision issue and I'll pull in front-first.

3 seconds, 6 seconds, who the fuck cares? How do a couple extra seconds even matter compared to preventing accidents and injury? OMG, I'm going to miss the intros to the movie? OMG I'm late for my Chipotle table reservation?
Fucking dumbasses
Everyone cares. It is common courtesy. When you make people wait you are sending the message that your time is more valuable than theirs. It is the same thing as blocking the whole aisle while you decide what flavor chips to buy. You want to back in? Fine. Pull over next to the spot and let everyone by before backing in. it's cool, I love when a car in front of me comes to a complete stop with no warning (with me 5' behind him and another car right on my ass) and then immediately shifts into reverse, requiring me and the whole train of cars behind me to all back up as well to accomodate him.
