Had 'em all on a 4.5GB Atlas II 7200RPM drive, but I filled it up, had to move them over to my Atlas 10K.
2066MP3s, taking up just barely over 4.5GB. Anyone with a smaller collection want a 4.5GB SCSI drive? ;)

In Windows you can get a rough estimate of how many songs by clicking an a mp3 directory and right clicking for properties. See how many files are there.

On the second partition of drive 2 of 3.

About 8GB worth, which includes most of my own CD collection.

I have but one 30g hd, not partitioned. But I do have about 5.9g of mp3's, which equals ~650 songs.

I tend to like the higher bitrate rips.

SUO, if you mean the program, it's a nifty little freeware called MP3 Database.
If you're wondering about the MP3's, in the last 16 months or so I have acquired 600+ cd quality live shows (300+ Grateful Dead shows and various other groups that allow trading). All of these were acquired from either usenet or etree in the shorten format. I'm talking like 1500 cd's of live music that I can't just go to any store and buy. I have a small apartment and needed room for these disks, so I mp3ed 800+ of my 1200+ commercial cd's and then sold them to used cd stores.
This was a win win situation for everybody. The artists got compensated when I bought them, CD store makes money on used cds, someone gets to buy said cds cheap, and I have space for my live disks, plus I don't go through "post partum depression", cause I can still listen to this music if I want. Bought a laptop with some of the money:D
