I just got mine today... It's quite nice. I'm pleased with it overall. I got the black 60 GB version... I'm so glad it's finally somewhat thin, the previous 60gb was HUGE.

The screen isn't too small... does just fine for what I want it to do... I've watched an ep of The Office so far on it and it was just fine.

The case that comes with them is quite nice for being free, not as nice as the 3rd gen cases though... it's two peices of leather sewn together.

It would be nice to have one that has a bigger screen... because bigger screens are better... but this fits in my pocket perfectly, which those other ones wouldn't.

Which one did you order.... and have you received it yet?

I got mine from Apple for LIke $379 or $389... what ever the educational discount was... but I got some extra off because I paid for overnight shipping and didn't get it.

God damn book store won't have it until the end of the month. I'm gonna get the 60GB model for more battery life.

Does it scratch as easily as the Nano? I read they use the same plastic cover as the Nano, but haven't read anything about the Video capable iPod scratching (at least not yet).

If you're talking about a college bookstore... you can order online from apple and get the same discount...

Yeah, talking about college book store. Don't wanna wait for shipping and do the verification thing in case they ask for it though. iLounge says Apple made audio improvements to this new iPod, which is the reason I'm buying it instead of an older version.

I got my Black 30GB yesterday.

I got the free shipping, but it was delivered overnight from China :)

Does it really not have a fast forward and rewind? DIVX I understand it not playing, but no fast forward is retarded.

I'm sure it scratches just as easy... but I don't plan on getting mine scratched... ( I put clear packing tape over the whole thing until I get a case of some sort for it.

I haven't ever had to do any sort of verification when ordering from apple with educational discounts... it's probably because I have it shipped to my dorm which is in one of the three zip codes MSU has.

No divx :(

If you have a remotely fast computer, it doesn't take that long to convert it.

With 230 divx movies, it doesn't matter if it takes 5 mins, it just not worth the trouble IMO.

Use a batch convertor.
